Using Civc Rec

This page will provide videos and resources to help you use Civic Rec to reserve Grand Traverse County Park facilities and host events in the parks.

How to create your Civic Rec account


  • To get to Civic Rec, select Parks Reservations from the top menu bar on the Grand Traverse County Parks website.
  • Select Log In/Create Account in the upper left corner of the Civic Rec page then select Create Your Grand Traverse County Parks and Recreation Account. On mobile devices, select Account in the upper right corner and then select Sign Up.
  • Fill in the form as completely as possible. All of the fields with an asterisk (*) are mandatory and your account cannot be created without completing these sections.

Parents First

When creating a new account, it is extremely important to enter the parent's/adult's information first. The first person on the account created will be the default payer/head of household and must be an adult. The primary email address entered into the parent's/adult’s account will be your username moving forward.

Text and Email Opt-in

We will be sharing information about  cancellations and facility closures via text message and/or email. Please enter your cell phone number and select your mobile carrier to receive important updates instantly. Your information will never be sold and will only be used to send you alerts about the topics you select.

Username

Your username will always be your email address. You have the option of adding additional email addresses where you wish to receive important updates.

Password

Passwords need to be at least 8 characters in length and include at least 3 of the following: Capital letter, lower case letter, number, special character. If you have forgotten your password, please select "forgot password" to reset it at any time.

Important Notes about Setting up Your Account

  • To receive text alerts about class cancellations and facility closures, indicate your mobile carrier next to your cell number.
  • Add additional household members (spouse, children, etc.) at any time in your account settings. Please keep your entire household on one account.

That’s it! Now you’re ready to go! 


Special Notes for Power Island

Please select date of arrival and departure to calculate your stay correctly. (i.e. if staying the night of June 16 and 17, select June 16-18 because you are arriving on June 16 and departing on June 18).

If your reservation includes both a weekday (Mon-Thu) and weekend (Fri-Sun), please put the weekday reservation in your cart and then separately add the weekend. The dates can be in the same transaction but must be added to the cart separately.

If your reservation includes a holiday period (min. 2 day rental) and non-holiday period, please put these reservations in your cart separately (similar to above). For example, if staying July 3-7, put July 3-5 in your cart and then July 5-7 in your cart separately. The dates can be in the same transaction but must be added to the cart separately.
