Well & Septic


Applications can now be accepted through the County's online application Portal EPIC GT. You may access the permitting site by clicking the button below, or the link on the left side of the page.


On-site well and sewage disposal permits are issued for homes and businesses that are not served by a municipal system.  Upon application, Sanitarians will conduct field evaluations, review submitted plans, and consult with homeowners and contractors to ensure proper installation.

Site Evaluations (aka Perc Test)

Site Surveys are done to determine the suitability of on-site sewage systems.  The Sanitarian conducts field evaluations to determine soil types, ground water elevations, distances to surface waters and other site conditions that may affect the suitability for on-site sewage disposal.

***Please consult the Fee Schedule prior to submitting applications.  Payment is due at time of permit application.***

Please plan on up to 30 days for turnaround of Permits and Site Evaluations.  This time may fluctuate depending on the number of permits at a given time.  In most cases, Status Forms can be returned in approximately 1 week.

Well & Septic Forms

  • Please choose the Permit Application if you are looking for a permit to install.  The same application is used for well and/or septic permits, residential or commercial.  The application must be completed and submitted with a detailed site plan and the appropriate fee.
  • The Site Evaluation Application is used for a "Perc" test, typically before property transfers or land splits.  The application must be submitted with a detailed site plan and the appropriate fee.
  • The Status form is used for the following:
    • Change of use (if required)
    • Demolition permits
    • Reuse of existing well and/or septic that meets code.
