Since 1998, the Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging (GTCOA) has provided holiday gift “Baskets of Bounty” to local senior citizens who are typically low income and alone during the holiday season.
The GTCOA is seeking donations in support of our 2024 Baskets of Bounty program. Donations are tax deductible. Monetary donations are extremely helpful – we can accept cash or checks, made out to “Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging.”
If you would like to donate items to Baskets of Bounty, please see a list of items below:
- Non-perishable food items: Canned chicken and tuna, canned vegetables and fruits, fruit cups, pudding cups, hearty soups and stews, spaghetti sauce, peanut butter, jelly, instant oatmeal, pasta, stuffing, noodle and rice packets, granola bars, coffee, tea, hot cocoa mix
- Paper towel, toilet paper, flushable wipes, and facial tissues
- Jigsaw puzzles (new only)
PLEASE: NO expired food items or glass jars.
Donations will be accepted through Friday, November 22, 2024
at the Grand Traverse County Commission on Aging, located at 1615 Park Drive, Traverse City. Office hours: Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, closed for lunch Noon – 1:00 PM
To refer a Grand Traverse County resident aged 60 and older, who is typically alone for the holidays, please contact our office at 231-922-4688.
