What type of testing is required for consideration of a correctional officer or road patrol deputy position?
Tests that are required include a written test and a physical agility test. The written test is comprised of 3 components, which include a timed vocabulary test, a timed reading comprehension test, and a spelling test. The vocabulary and reading comprehension tests are multiple choice. For the spelling test, a proctor will pronounce 25 words, each of them 2 times, and the test-takers will provide a written spelling of the word.

The physical agility consists of sit-ups, push-ups, and a 2-mile run. The physical requirements are based on gender and age.
