Dr. Nicholas Ceglarek

Dr. Nicholas Ceglarek studied mathematics, statistics, and psychology at Grand Valley State University, earning his Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education in 1996. Upon graduation, Dr. Ceglarek began his career at Rockford Public Schools as a mathematics and AP calculus teacher. While teaching, he graduated from Grand Valley State University with a master’s degree in Educational Leadership and later received his Doctor of Education degree from Eastern Michigan University. After three years of teaching, Dr. Ceglarek was selected as an assistant principal and appointed Director of District Assessment and Student Testing. In 2002, he began serving communities as the superintendent of Baldwin Community Schools, Fruitport Community Schools, and Hudsonville Public Schools. During that time, Dr. Ceglarek was presented with the Grand Valley State University College of Arts and Science Distinguished Alumni Award, West Michigan Public Relations Society of America 2015 Communicator of the Year, and was inducted in the Allendale Hall of Fame. Grand Valley State University presented Dr. Ceglarek with the Distinguished Alumni Award in October 2021. In July 2018 Dr. Ceglarek was appointed superintendent for Northwest Education Services (formerly Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District). Dr. Ceglarek resides in Traverse City with his wife Darcy and two sons, Colson and Zane.
