A Grand Place to Stay Informed & Get Involved

2024 - Spotlights Posted on January 07, 2025

Stay Informed:

The county is taking steps to enhance transparency and improve public communication. Our January theme is “A Grand Place to Stay Informed & Get Involved.” We now have several ongoing communications and channels to keep our citizens informed!

Ways to Stay Informed:

We value transparent communication because it fosters trust and accountability with our residents. By openly sharing information about decisions, policies, and operations, the government ensures that the public is informed, engaged, and empowered to participate in the democratic process.

Get Involved:

It’s important for citizens to pay attention to what’s going on in their neighborhood. Your voice matters! And there are many opportunities to get your ideas heard by your government.

Ways to Get Involved:

We hope that ultimately our stronger communications help to strengthen the relationship between the county and our citizens, creating a more collaborative and effective governance system.

Recess Sponsorship

Recess is an afterwork networking event for business professionals in Grand Traverse County. Recess 2025 is brought to you by us. Our theme this year is “Grand Traverse County: A grand place to live, work and play.” At each Recess we will be delivering Public Service Announcements relevant to what’s going on in the county that month. In January our mini theme is “A Grand Place to Stay Informed & Get Involved” and Nate Alger and Jenny McKellar will be delivering our PSA.

Recess will be at Cherry Capital Airport on January 8th. All Recess events are held 5pm-7pm with a $10 cover charge. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, beverages and incredible prizes.
