Fingerprints/DNA Testing

Juveniles who have been adjudicated of certain offenses are required to submit fingerprints and DNA pursuant to MCL 712A.18. Fingerprints and/or DNA samples are taken by an officer at the Grand Traverse County Jail located at 320 Washington St, Traverse City, MI 49684.

If required, the juvenile will received and Order for Fingerprints and/or an Order for DNA Sample from the Court. Each petition requires a new set of fingerprints and/or new DNA sample. 

The juvenile bring a photo ID, the Order for Fingerprints and/or the Order for DNA Sample, and the completed Fingerprint Information Form to the appointment.

                                                           **COVID-19 PROTOCOL**

  • ONE parent must accompany the juvenile to the Grand Traverse County jail. 
  • The juvenile and parent must wear a face mask. 
  • The juvenile must bring a photo ID. 
  • The juvenile must bring the Order for Fingerprints and/or the Order for DNA Sample. 
  • The juvenile must bring the completed Fingerprint Information form. 
DIRECTIONS UPON ARRIVAL: Come to the jail lobby and contact the security staff by pushing the intercom button near the front door.  An officer will meet you in the lobby.
