Grand Traverse County Announces Cara Eule as New Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation and Chris Comeaux as New Deputy Director of Facilities
Traverse City, Michigan (Grand Traverse County) – Grand Traverse County has merged the Facilities and Parks and Recreation Departments into a single department. As part of this restructuring, the county has appointed a Deputy Director for Facilities and a Deputy Director for Parks and Recreation to serve under current Parks and Facilities Director, John Chase.
“Hiring the right candidates is more than just filling positions,” said County Administrator Nate Alger. “It’s about building a strong team for long-term growth, productivity, and workplace culture. We were very fortunate to hire Cara and Chris.”
Alger noted that both Deputy Directors have been in their roles for a few weeks and have already made significant improvements. We are pleased to introduce Cara and Chris.
Cara Eule: Cara Eule has accepted the role as Grand Traverse County's new Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation. Cara is an avid outdoorsperson and brings a wealth of innovative ideas and resources to the department to build capacity and serve the residents and guests of Grand Traverse County. Cara has been employed by the County since 2020 serving as the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Health Department.

Chris Comeaux: Chris Comeaux has accepted the role as Grand Traverse County new Deputy Director of Facilities. Chris is joining the County with more than 14 years of experience with Grand Traverse Metro Fire and Cedar Area Fire and Rescue. Chris's depth and breadth of experience leading purpose and process-driven teams will add to the ability to provide world-class facilities for residents, visitors, and employees of Grand Traverse County.
