Healthy Families America (HFA) is a program that families can voluntarily participate in to receive guidance and support through home visits to help them prepare for their baby's birth and raise a healthy family. The program can start during pregnancy and continue until the child turns three years old, or up to four years old if necessary. The Grand Traverse County Health Department collaborates with District Health Department #10 (DHD#10) to offer this program.
HFA Provides:
- Care for yourself during pregnancy and after the baby's birth
- Support parents and families in their new roles
- Strengthen family- child relationships
- Help with temper tantrums, toilet training, and other challenging steps
- Plan activities to do with your baby, toddler, and preschooler
- Help you prepare your child for school success
- Set goals for yourself and your family based on your values
